The Heart of the Workshop. Fully Configurable. Amplified When You Need It. The DesignLine Hybrid Violin combines everything the DesignLine stands for – hand-finished surface, full configurability, award-winning sound – with a permanently integrated pickup system. Acoustically professional, electrically amplified at a moment's notice. One instrument for both worlds, with no compromise on sound or build quality. 100 % CARBON FIBER MADE IN GERMANY INTEGRATED PICKUP 5-YEAR WARRANTY Surface The DesignLine Hybrid is manufactured using a vacuum infusion process, then finished entirely by hand: sanded multiple times, lacquered, and polished to a high gloss. The result is the shimmering carbon weave pattern mezzo-forte is known for – a three-dimensional depth effect that shifts with every change of light. Alternatively, the DesignLine Hybrid is available with Orchestra Finish: a convincingly realistic wood appearance, customised to your preferences. Sound Acoustically, the DesignLine Hybrid delivers the same tonal range as the purely acoustic model – radiant, projecting, and expressive across all registers. An instrument from this line won the German Musical Instruments Award in 2015. Response: Feather-light and immediate. The instrument provides instant feedback to every nuance of bowing. Character: Radiant and overtone-rich. In the upper positions on the E-string in particular, the DesignLine displays a brilliance that convinces. Dynamics: From whispering pianissimo to commanding fortissimo – the instrument follows musical ideas effortlessly. Pickup System At the heart of the Hybrid version: a permanently installed ANS pickup system (AbsoluteNaturalSound) based on dynamic microphone technology. The pickup is built into the instrument from the start – no retrofitting, no adhesive mounts, no cable clutter. Connection: Standard 1/4" (6.3 mm) jack – directly compatible with amplifiers, mixing consoles, and effects units. Principle: Plug & play. Connect a cable, start playing. No battery required, no pre-wiring needed. Tonal Character: The ANS pickup captures the instrument's natural voice – warm, detailed, and free from the harshness typically associated with piezo-based systems. Components Every DesignLine Hybrid Violin is built, set up, and shipped ready to play from our German workshop: Strings: Pirastro Evah Pirazzi – for solo-grade power and complex tonal colours. Pegs: Wittner fine-tuning pegs – precise tuning with minimal effort, completely climate-stable. Fingerboard: CITES-free composite – temperature-resistant, with the feel of ebony but greater durability. Pickup: ANS (AbsoluteNaturalSound), dynamic microphone technology, 1/4" (6.3 mm) jack. Ergonomics: Purpose-designed grooves in the lower bouts ensure a secure fit for any standard shoulder rest. Configuration The DesignLine Hybrid offers full configurability: 5-String: Extend your range with a low C-string (viola register) – ideal for crossover, studio work, and extended technique. Orchestra Finish: Custom wood-effect varnish to your specifications. Bridge Upgrade: Optional Milo Stamm Royal for maximum tonal refinement, or a carbon bridge for distinctive new tonal colours. Warranty We stand behind our craftsmanship: 5-year unrestricted manufacturer's warranty on the body. mezzo-forte instruments are developed and handcrafted entirely in Germany. Winner of the German Musical Instruments Award 2015.
