"A Serene Stillness" Custom framed (I will contact you with the options) This is a painting that I had been thinking about for a long time. It takes place on the wintering grounds outside the North entrance of Yellowstone NP. I ended up on top of this sage-covered hillside one October evening and watched as dozens of elk begin to transition down into the lowlands. This time of year can be so special for so many reasons, but I think what I love most is the sense of a certain stillness that the evenings can have. The warm daytime temps mix with the sudden drops of cool evening air beings on a refreshing feeling. Elk have always been my favorite animals, and I wanted to capture them in a way that showed my appreciation for them.
