Marianne Starck for Michael Andersen & Son "Persia" Table Lamp
The "Persia Glaze" developed by Daniel Andersen for Mikael Andersen & Sons in the 1930s was in many ways perfected by Marianne Starck for MA&S in the 1950s and 60s. An incredibly complex glaze, often giving the appearance of thousands of micro-mosaics in grey-blue pearlescent hues. Seldom seen, this particular model has a brass cap and stem, giving a very regal appearance. Increasingly hard to find and very sought after. A quick search will find some extraordinary prices for Persia Glaze pieces in the USA.
