Rare vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Ishimura

This is a beautiful vintage Japanese Sosaku (Creative) Kokeshi doll crafted by the artisan Ishimura (石村作). The doll features a striking, smooth black bob haircut that frames a serene, minimalist face with closed eyes and a delicate touch of red on the lips. Her elegant wooden body showcases a natural grain base, intricately decorated with engraved and painted cherry blossom (sakura) motifs, accented by black and textured white patterns that mimic a traditional kimono. The doll comes with its original cardboard presentation box, which bears a traditional Japanese calligraphy label identifying it as a creative kokeshi titled "Hana no Mai" (花の舞), meaning "Dance of the Flowers," alongside the artist's signature and red seal.
