Cultural Expressions and Activism Part 3 is a 90-minute secondary Social Studies lesson that analyzes modern barriers to Latinx political representation. Students engage in an experiential simulation to compare At-Large vs. Single-Member District elections, investigate the landmark Montes v. City of Yakima lawsuit, and reflect on the personal costs and triumphs of Latinx candidates making history in Washington State.
