Kids SmARTist Club

Finally, an art club just for kids! In this relaxed after school art class we focus on the creative process and technique practice. During each class session we explore a monthly medium as we practice our creative skills. Each student has the opportunity to explore an area they wish to learn more about and gain technique assistance during our time together. We explore various mediums and topics such as: Drawing - Graphite, Colored Pencil, Charcoal, Pastel, Ink, Marker Painting - Watercolor Tube and Pan type, Acrylics on Canvas, Paper, and Wood Sculpture - Earthenware Clay, Polymer Clay, Paper and Board Mixed Media - Using a mixture of mediums to make dimensional or layered artwork as well as work on special projects. Creative Thinking - Understanding the creative process, exploring different viewpoints for perspective, thinking outside of the box We provide an excellent supplement to your child's current school programming and art enrichment. Each class meets once a week in a 1-1/2 hour session, but you may arrive late or leave early as your schedule allows. Projects will be worked on as able during session time or taken home to complete by the end of the month. UPCOMING MONTHLY FOCUS APRIL Focus: MIXED MEDIA (Spring Themed Drawing/Painting/Sculpture) MAY Focus: PAINTING (Watercolor, Acrylics, and Perspective) JUNE: No class session - (See Summer Camps) JULY: No class session - (See Summer Camps) AUGUST: No class session - (See Summer Camps) SEPTEMBER Focus: DRAWING (Anime/Manga Style Illustration exploration) OCTOBER Focus: PAINTING (Watercolor, Acrylics, and Perspective) NOVEMBER Focus: SCULPTURE (Favorite Character in polymer and earthenware clay) DECEMBER Focus: MIXED MEDIA (Drawing/Painting/Sculpture) HOW IT WORKS: (Options for Booking) DROP-IN CLASS: You have the opportunity for your child to attend a drop-in session one-time class for casual study and technique assistance. Select this option if you want your child to just try it or get assistance on a specific project or area of study. CLASS 3-PACK: For those who want consistent practice select the Class 3-Pack option for more focused study and project completion. You purchase the class pack and register for the dates of class that suit your schedule. SmARTists ages 8-17 who sign up for a 3-Pack and return each month will have the chance to work with different mediums and complete a project by the end of the month. We provide guidance, instruction, and topics of study; however, we are student focused and encourage individual creative thinking and design work. Meets every 2nd, 3rd, 4th Wednesday of month at 4:30-6:00pm. Basic Materials included. Additional supplies available for purchase as needed. Pre-Registration is required.
