Woolly Rose-mallow

Hibiscus lasiocarpos (Woolly Rose-mallow or False Cotton) is a tall, eye-catching perennial native to Texas and the southern U.S., known for its large white or pink blooms with bold crimson centers. It thrives in wet soil and is commonly found along ditches, sloughs, and pond edges. The fuzzy, heart-shaped leaves and woody stems give it a distinct texture, while its long bloom season from spring through late summer brings color and pollinators to any bog or wetland garden. As a bonus, it’s highly deer resistant and attracts birds looking for seed and cover.
