TOURMALINE Tourmalines are a diverse group of gemstones known for their stunning range of colors. The word "tourmaline" has its roots in Sinhalese (a language from Sri Lanka) as "toramalli," which means stone of mixed colors. Tourmaline generally grows in elongated crystals, which is why the cutting shape is often oval or emerald-cut.
