The Sun Melts the Moon
While Pensacola, FL may not be the first destination that comes to mind for music discovery, it’s home to a dedicated group of individuals who create with intention and care, including the members of Snow Halo. Formed in 2024, the band debuted with a self-released EP and features members of Kairo, Glazed Eyes, and Statement of Pride. With Snow Halo, the group shifts toward a sound rooted in ’90s alt-rock, drawing influence from bands like Swervedriver, Hum, Failure, and Catherine Wheel. “The Sun Melts the Moon” follows the band’s 2025 split EP with Kairo and finds Snow Halo refining that sound into a sharp and focused, 4-track EP. Songwriter and vocalist Ryan Henderson brings a distinct, gritty vocal style that sets the band apart from both their influences and many of their contemporaries working in similar territory, all layered over dense guitar fuzz and melodic textures. Standout track ‘Infinity Pool’ closes with an additional remix by South Florida’s own Alovesopure.
