The Inception Sigil - 60th Anniversary Limited Edition

During his early research into the Black Arts, Anton Szandor LaVey encountered Maurice Bessy’s A Pictorial History of Magic and the Supernatural. Among its pages was a symbol that would come to define something far greater than the book it appeared in. When Anton LaVey transformed his working circle, The Order of the Trapezoid, into what would become the Church of Satan, this was the Sigil he chose to stand at its center, an emblem that most completely embodied the principles upon which the first aboveground Satanic church was built. The original artwork was enlarged into a plaque and mounted above the main ritual altar within the Black House, where it presided over the earliest workings of the Church. It was truly a presence to behold. In those formative years, this version of the Sigil appeared across membership cards, official documents, and early medallions, each iteration shaped by the hand and limitations of its maker. No two were perfectly alike. This medallion returns to that point of origin.
