ʻApe ʻElekū Button Up Aloha Shirt- Hunter Green

This button up aloha shirt features our ʻApe ʻElekū print on Hunter Green material with Raffia and Sand. ʻApe ʻElekū I remember the ʻape growing near the ocean, with Piʻilanihale in view. Growing in the shade of a great Kamani tree, I was taken by the darkness of the leaves. Oversized, upright, and almost looking mutant, the ʻape had such a pronounced presence that it commanded attention. I have always liked ʻape. The glossy leaves are a powerful statement in the wild growing in the darker understory. I have heard that they used to eat the root during famine. I prefer to use the leaves as an umbrella in sudden downpours. Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Button Up is an open front, tapered shirt with a full length placket. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!
