Woody Nook Wines Single Vineyard shiraz 2024
As you would expect from this warm year, there's plenty of grunt and power in the shiraz, and yet it shows remarkable softness and plushness, no doubt a result of the old dry-grown, low-yielding vines. It spends 18 months in a mix of American and French oak, and I think that American component is quite important. Aromas of dark fruits, a little spice and a slight hint of pepper lead into a full-bodied, generously flavoured palate that will handle extended cellaring with ease.
