1922(Nov 14) Coloured ppc entitled Constantinople – Porte du Palais de Dolma – Baghtche with corner creases & other blemishes to Little Melta & redirected with ink “Try Melton” & with Witton / Norwich cds for redirection. Bearing GB GV 1½d cancelled third series FPO 14 cds which was GHQ Army of the Black Sea & predates Proud’s Earliest recorded date by 6 days. Card datelined by writer H.M.T. Poland, of the troopship used to house the rapidly mobilised troops to counter the Chanak crisis…Mail was bagged aboard ship transported & serviced at the postal faciliies in Constantimople……such mail is seldom offered & a choice item for Army of the Black sea collectors.
