Lake Country System 4000 Polishing Pad Washer Let me be honest with you up front: my preference is a fresh pad every time I polish. That's the overkill way, and if you're doing a single car, it's the right way. But I also know not everyone works like that. If you're polishing multiple cars in a day, burning through a new pad for every panel makes zero financial sense. That's where this thing comes in, and it's one of my favorites. The System 4000 is Lake Country's latest generation pad washer, and the design solves the problem that made me skeptical of pad washers in the first place: dirty water. Traditional pad washers recirculate the same contaminated solution over and over, so you're "cleaning" your pad with the compound and swirl-filled sludge you just rinsed out of it. Lake Country's Pure Flo Technology fixes this by keeping fresh cleaning solution separate from the used liquid in a removable catch basin. Every press of the wash plate pumps clean solution into the pad, and the dirty runoff drains away where it stays. Using it is stupid simple. Fill the bucket with clean water, drop in a packet of Snappy Clean Boost powder, attach your dirty pad to your polisher, and run it at low speed while pressing down on the spring-loaded fluted wash plate. The pressing action drives the pump, drawing fresh solution up into the pad while the flutes agitate the compound and polish out of the foam or wool. Then spin the pad dry inside the unit so you're not slinging water across your garage. Your pad comes out clean, decontaminated, and ready for the next panel or the next car. It works with random orbital, dual action, and rotary machines, and handles foam and wool pads from 3" to 7". It's also efficient with water, using just 1.6 gallons per fill, about half of what other pad washers burn through. If you're a one-car-at-a-time person, keep buying fresh pads. If you're correcting paint on multiple vehicles or running any kind of volume, this pays for itself in saved pads fast. Features Pure Flo Technology separates fresh cleaning solution from contaminated runoff so every wash cycle uses clean liquid, not recycled sludge Spring-loaded fluted wash plate agitates compound and polish out of the pad without tearing up foam or wool User-controlled pump activates as you press the wash plate, so you control how much solution hits the pad Removable catch basin contains dirty water separately for easy dumping between sessions Open-top design gives you quick pad access mid-job with reduced water spray Improved carrying handle balances the full unit when moving it around the shop Upgraded grommet seal on the catch basin and pump eliminates the easy-to-lose seals of the previous generation Redesigned pump eliminates pressure loss and resists clogging Uses only 1.6 gallons of water per fill, roughly 50% less than other pad washers Patented design (U.S. Patent #8,893,734) How To Use: Fill the pail to the desired level with clean water. Add one packet of Snappy Clean Boost pad cleaning powder. Attach your soiled pad to your polisher and insert it into the unit. Run the polisher at a very low speed while pressing down repeatedly on the wash plate. Each press pumps fresh solution into the pad. Once clean, spin the pad dry inside the unit to avoid sling. Empty the catch basin and rinse the unit after your session.
