Perhaps you know that the idea of taking control - or giving it up - appeals to you, but you're not sure what that might look like in practice. Maybe a partner has expressed an interest in D/s. Or perhaps you've already experimented a little and want to understand the foundations behind it. Introduction to Dominance & submission is a practical, welcoming two-hour workshop designed specifically for beginners and the D/s curious. Led by kink educator, professional Dom and qualified sexologist The Artyst Kiink, this workshop explores both the psychology and practical foundations of dominance and submission, without assuming any previous experience or knowledge. You'll learn what D/s actually means, how different power-exchange dynamics can look, and how communication, negotiation, consent and trust create the framework for exploring them safely and confidently. The workshop is designed to be equally relevant whether you're interested in dominance, submission, switching between the two, exploring with a partner or simply curious about what D/s is all about. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN Together we'll explore: What dominance and submission actually mean D/s, BDSM and kink - where they overlap and where they differ Why power exchange can be appealing Exploring dominant, submissive and switch roles without feeling you need to fit a stereotype D/s inside and outside the bedroom Different styles of dominance and submission Communicating desires, boundaries and expectations Consent and negotiation within D/s The difference between fantasy and creating a workable real-life dynamic An introduction to protocols and rituals Position training and how it can be used within a D/s dynamic How to begin structuring a D/s scene Aftercare, check-ins and communication afterwards Common misconceptions and beginner pitfalls You don't need a partner to attend, and there's no expectation that you'll participate in anything you're not comfortable with. Come to learn, ask questions and discover which aspects of D/s, if any, speak to you. YOUR FACILITATOR The Artyst Kiink - Kink Educator, Professional Dom & Qualified Sexologist With more than 11 years' experience in kink and alternative relationships, The Artyst Kiink brings professional knowledge and lived experience to an accessible, practical approach to D/s. His workshops have been presented in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and London, helping people move beyond the stereotypes of dominance and submission and develop a deeper understanding of power, communication and intentional play. WHAT TO EXPECT This is an informal, inclusive educational workshop for all genders, sexualities and relationship structures. No previous D/s or kink experience is required. You don't need to identify as dominant or submissive — and you certainly don't need to know which one you might be. Many participants attend alone, while others come with a partner or friend. Places are limited to 30 participants to keep the workshop relaxed and conversational. WANT TO GO DEEPER? This workshop is followed in the afternoon by Deeper into D/s: Advanced Tools for Dominance, Submission & Power Exchange. Attend both to move from the foundations of D/s into developing richer, more intentional dynamics and scenes. Single Workshop - $75 Sunday D/s Pass - $130 (both workshops, save $20) Full Weekend Pass - $230 (all four weekend workshops, save $70) GOOD TO KNOW All workshop attendees receive 10% off in-store purchases on the day, with time to shop before and after the session.
