"A new dawn in entertainment." That was the promise on the sign, and for a few years at the turn of the eighties, Creation in West Orange delivered on it.It was a rock club, and the bookings were not what you would expect from a room in Essex County. The Ramones played there in March 1979. Pat Benatar came through on the third night of 1980. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in January 1981, The Stranglers that April, Twisted Sister in the spring of 1982. Muddy Waters played the room. So did David Johansen, Meat Loaf, Tower of Power, NRBQ and Jorma Kaukonen. For a stretch running from 1977 into the early eighties, if a band was working the northeast club circuit, there was a decent chance they stopped in West Orange.The room is gone. The logo — that heavy seventies wordmark with the stars flanking the tagline — is the kind of thing that ended up on a matchbook, a ticket stub, or the back of somebody's jacket, and then nowhere at all.The mark is reproduced the way it would look on a shirt that had survived from the club's own run: two inks cracked and worn through, with the white knocked out so the shirt itself shows through every outline and keyline, exactly as the original was built.Printed to order on a Gildan 64000 softstyle tee — 100% ring-spun cotton at 4.5 oz/yd² (153 g/m²), quarter-turned so there is no crease down the center, with shoulder-to-shoulder taping and double stitching at the neckline and sleeves. Sport Grey is a 90/10 cotton-polyester blend and the heather colors are 65/35.
