Château Coutet, Barsac, 2012 - 12 Bottle Original Wooden Case (OWC)
Elegant Barsac with an excellent balance, in its Original Wooden Case Straw coloured, the wine displays lovely aromatic notes of very ripe white fruits such peach, nectarine, and pear on the nose. On the palate, the wine becomes round and smooth, with an excellent balance between freshness and alcohol, yet displaying a medium body, graced with finesse. The retro-olfaction is elegant and marked by exotic fruits, and a tinge of spices (mild spices and nutmeg). The finish is long and pleasant, with more freshness and charm than power, typical of a year with a difficult climate. The cool Barsac terroir enabled this wine to preserve the estate’s typicity “Pungent and racy. Good pace with acidity matching sweetness. Drinking 2021 -2038.” -Jancis Robinson Jancis Robinson 17/20 Pts Cellaring: Drink now to 2038 Food Pairing: The classic food pairing is with highly contrasting flavours, most famously with Foie Gras or pungent blue cheeses like Roquefort or Stilton, where the wine's rich sweetness provides a necessary counterpoint to the dish's saltiness and richness, though it also pairs beautifully with fruit-based desserts or spicy Asian cuisine. | 🌡️ Serve at a temperature between 8 and 10ºC.
