A piece of vintage sarasa cotton, featuring a vibrant peony flower pattern in warm rust orange and deep indigo, inspired by imported chintz designs. Sarasa refers to Japanese-printed cotton textiles influenced by Southeast Asian and European trade fabrics, produced and used from the late Edo to early Showa period for household textiles and kimono.
