Semaphore Signal Hat Kit by Eva Lenz (Annual Six)

We now offer handy kits for all our patterns in The Annual (issue six)! This is the joyful Semaphore Signal Hat by Eva Lenz, inspired by those sign posts of the past – a lovely addition to any travel wardrobe, and an invitation to play with your favourite colours. All kits include enough yarn to knit the hat, along with a fab project bag to keep it all safe. With the kits with four colours, you can either knit the four-colour or the three-colour chevron band. Please be aware that the kit does not include a copy of The Annual – you can get your copy here. Happy knitting! Remember the manual sign posts of the early railways? That's what inspired the signature chevron band of Eva Lenz' Semaphore Signal Hat! A gentle invite to experiment with colours, this hat has a wonderfully unique (and really fun to knit!) construction: You start with the chevron band in the colours of your choice, knit it flat and join it in the round. Then, you pick up stitches above and below to finish the hat with ribbing and a stockinette crown. To top it all off, you can add a delightful tassel! It's a fabulous little beanie to add to your travel luggage last minute, for those adventures on the road or tracks that are for sure to come! Eva designed the Semaphore Signal Hat for our 4ply yarns - we had samples knitted up in Devonia 4ply, Knit by Numbers 4ply and Devon Naturals 4ply.
