NO CAP #5, Alexander Gross
NO CAP is an annual self-published photography series built around the continuous editing and revisiting of Alexander Gross’ photographic archive. Each issue brings together images made across personal and professional contexts, removing them from their original purpose and placing them into new sequences. Through editing, rhythm and juxtaposition, unexpected relationships emerge between photographs that were never intended to exist together. These connections invite the viewer to move freely through the publication and construct their own readings. The title comes from the expression no cap — slang for something real or true — reflecting the project’s direct approach to photography. Each issue contains no text or captions: only full-bleed images arranged in a specific sequence, allowing the photographs and the relationships between them to shape the narrative. Started in 2022, NO CAP currently comprises five issues and a special re-mix edition. The project continues to evolve beyond the printed page through exhibitions and collaborative workshops exploring photographic editing and self-publishing Self Published Softcover Saddle-stitched 60 pages 210 x 297 mm
