Cartier Trinity Medium Hoop Earrings 18K Tri-Color Gold — Vintage, 1 1/4"

The Trinity hoop at the size you wear every day. Three bands of 18K gold — yellow, rose, white — running side by side and twisting a half turn around the length of the hoop, so the color on the outside edge changes as the ring comes around the ear. Yellow leads at the top, rose takes over through the curve, white finishes at the tail. Each band is a flat ribbon in section, polished on all faces, joined to the others only at the post end and the tip. Held to the light at an angle they separate into three distinct rings; head-on they read as one twisted rope of gold. Medium scale. 32 mm across, 1 1/4 inches, and 10.66 grams for the pair — solid, not hollow tube. Enough diameter to move and catch light, small enough to wear to work and forget about. Signed Cartier, stamped 750, maker's mark, numbered. 1990s production.
