Mexico: Nuevo Paraiso

Mexico: Nuevo Paraiso is a beautifully balanced, certified organic coffee with comforting chocolate sweetness, soft nougat, and a bright pop of cherry pie. This is Peregrine’s first coffee from Mexico, sourced through our longtime friend Jake Smith and Joel Edwards, part of the team at Red Fox Coffees. Grown by smallholder producers in the Nuevo Paraiso community of Chiapas, including producer Jorge Luis Hernández López, this washed lot brings together classic varieties like Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon alongside Marsellesa. The farms contributing to this coffee are certified organic, reflecting generations of careful cultivation and a deep connection to the land. For us, Nuevo Paraiso is an exciting introduction to an origin we’ve wanted to bring to Peregrine for years. The Bottom Line: Hot cocoa and nougat give this coffee a rich, comforting sweetness, while cherry pie adds just enough fruit and brightness to keep the cup lively and balanced.
