Springbank 15 Year Old + Campbeltown Loch

Two Campbeltown malts from the same stable. Springbank and Campbeltown Loch are both made under J&A Mitchell, blended and bottled at the distillery the family has run since 1828, one the distillery speaking alone, the other the whole town gathered into a single glass. Springbank 15 Year Old is matured predominantly in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour: rich and dark-fruited, with the briny, lightly peated backbone that runs through the core range. Campbeltown Loch is the wider view, a blended malt drawn from all three of the town's distilleries, Springbank among them and married in bourbon and sherry casks [46%/ bourbon and sherry, non-chill-filtered]: maritime and honeyed, soft fruit and a nutty sweetness with the gentlest curl of peat smoke. One distillery and the whole of Campbeltown, one family at the foot of Kintyre.
