Sarit Gat Pepper (Capsicum annuum) This hot pepper originated in Kosovo where Sarit Gat translated to "long yellow". The beautiful canary yellow peppers are spicy, about 20,000-50,000 Scoville Units. The fruits are about 4-6" in length and are slender. Each 24" tall plant produces many dozen peppers. This is one of the most highly productive hot pepper we grow! Sarit Gat has a fruity, citrusy flavor and we love to pickle the peppers and add them to stir-fries. The peppers are very crunchy when eaten fresh and start as a light green color before maturing to yellow. Since the plants are incredibly productive you'll probably want to trellis the plants. Origin: We were given the parent seed of our Sarit Gat pepper by our friend Duck Chugger (John) who is a Master gardener, hunter, hot-sauce wizard, father and all-around great guy. He is formerly of Alameda, CA and is now starting a farm in the rich soils of Gridley, CA. (Approximately 20 seeds per packet) Germination Rate: All of our seed varieties exceed 80% germination and are re-tested every 6 months. Planting Instructions: We recommend starting tomato seeds indoors in a bright and warm location 4 to 6 weeks before last frost date in spring. Transplant after danger of frost in full sun and trellis.
