Antler Frog by Raymond Tsalate

A small prominent gray tinged antler frog with round pen shell eyes inlaid to the protruding eye sockets by Ray Tsalate. The top of the back is where Ray put the porous darker gray spotted bone marrow area of the horn. The darker area sets off the brilliance of the twenty one hand made baby blue Kingman mine and blue green Fox mine turquoise dots. Ray also strapped a fantastic offering bundle to the top of the frog's back with sinew featuring three Mediterranean branch coral beads separated by four turquoise beads. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Raymond Tsalate (signed) Size: 1 in. wide x 1-1/8 in. long x 3/3 in. tall #65251
