K2 Grid 90 Freeride Inline Skate, finally a K2 hardboot you can live in. The Grid 90 is built for advanced and expert skaters who want real support without giving up all-day comfort. A stiff nylon shell and cuff soak up vibration, the Vortech air channels keep your feet cooler on long sessions, and the Flex Lock cuff lets you dial support versus range of motion to match how you actually skate — tight for power, looser when you want more play. Underneath, an aluminium mounting block locks the frame to the shell so energy doesn’t get lost in plastic. You get 3mm of fore/aft adjustment to set stance, plus an adjustable instep ratchet so the boot wraps the foot instead of just sitting on it. The 273mm extruded, CNC-machined 6061 rocker frame is the sweet spot: 90mm wheels for speed and roll, with a mild rocker that still turns when the path gets tight. Roll-out is 90mm 85A wheels on ILQ9 bearings — fast enough to cover ground, grippy enough for Melbourne paths and mixed urban surfaces. The real difference is the liner. K2 partnered with Intuition on a heat-moldable, close-cell foam liner, lasted to this shell, with a shock-absorbing heel wedge and K2 Speed Lacing. One pull, roll, stow — and you’re in. Heat-mould it and the boot becomes yours: light, firm, and locked in at the heel.
