Western Weight Fur Felt Workshop

In this two-day workshop, students will create a classic flat-brim fedora using western weight fur felt and traditional millinery and hatter techniques. On Friday evening, you'll begin by blocking your fur felt hat body over one of our vintage wooden hat blocks. Saturday's session will focus on trimming the brim with a rounding jack, hand-shaping the crown, sewing in a ribbon sweatband, and finishing with classic ribbon trim. Hand sewing experience is helpful but not required. All skill levels are welcome. Class Schedule: Friday, January 15th , 5:00–7:00pm Saturday, January 16th, 10:00–4:00pm (includes a one-hour lunch break) Please note: Students will need to purchase their own fur felt hat body for this class.
