Butyl Flashing Tape, 4 inch x 75 feet, Case of 12 Rolls
TapeManBlue Butyl Flashing Tape 4 inches wide by 75 feet long Butyl rubber adhesive 14 mil thick Woven polypropylene backing UV resistant for up to 12 months Application temperature: 30°F to 180°F Post-installation performance range: -30°F to 200°F Made in USA Butyl Flashing Tape Technical Data Sheet TapeManBlue Butyl Flashing Tape seals window and door openings, sheathing seams, and other building-envelope transitions where a continuous water barrier is required. This window flashing tape combines a butyl rubber adhesive with a durable woven polypropylene backing to create a permanent, weathertight seal on compatible clean, dry building surfaces. The flexible butyl flashing tape construction conforms around curves, corners, and transitions to maintain consistent coverage without lifting at the edges. The butyl adhesive is also self-healing around punctures, creating a watertight seal around nails, screws, and other fasteners that penetrate the tape. Butyl flashing tape bonds on contact, so there is no cure time required before the surface is protected. Unlike liquid flashing, which requires application and curing time, flashing tape provides an immediate barrier after installation. A protective release liner prevents the adhesive from sticking to itself during handling and helps make applications cleaner and easier. This butyl flashing tape also seams structural insulated sheathing (SIS) panels, sealing the gaps between panels to maintain a continuous water barrier across the building envelope. Butyl sealant tape can be used on vulnerable edges and corners, as well as transitions between sheathing and other building openings, to create a continuous weathertight seal. Built for long-term weather exposure Schedules shift during projects, and flashing tape sometimes sits exposed longer than planned before the siding or trim goes on. TapeManBlue Butyl Flashing Tape is UV resistant for up to 12 months, so a delayed project doesn't mean redoing the flashing. Our butyl flash tape installs across a 30°F to 180°F range, and performs from -30°F to 200°F once applied, providing a reliable, long-lasting seal through changing weather conditions. Butyl flashing tape should not be applied to wet, dirty, frozen, or contaminated surfaces, or when temperatures are outside the recommended 30°F–180°F installation range. Butyl flashing tape should not be used as a substitute for house wrap, roofing underlayment, or other required building-envelope components. Always verify compatibility with the application surface and follow applicable window, door, and building-envelope installation requirements. Who uses butyl flashing tape? General contractors use butyl flashing tape to create weathertight transitions around windows, doors, openings, and other vulnerable areas of the building envelope. Builders and framing contractors use flashing tape during new construction to protect rough openings and other exterior wall transitions before windows, doors, and exterior finishes are installed. Window and door installers use butyl tape around rough openings and compatible window and door assemblies to help prevent water intrusion. Remodeling contractors use window flashing tape when replacing windows and doors or repairing existing building-envelope systems. Butyl Tape Sold by the Case TapeManBlue Butyl Flashing Tape is 4 inches by 75 feet, available in 12-roll cases for contractors, builders, remodelers, and window and door installers who need dependable flashing tape across multiple installations and job sites. The case of butyl flash tape provides 300 square feet of total coverage for window, door, and other flashing applications, keeping additional rolls readily available and reducing the need to reorder individual rolls between projects. How to install butyl flashing tape: Make sure the application surface is clean and dry. Measure and cut the butyl flashing tape to the required length. Remove the protective release liner. Apply the butyl tape over the opening, seam, corner, or transition according to the flashing-system requirements. Smooth the flashing tape around corners and transitions without creating gaps. Use a flashing tape roller to apply firm, even pressure and remove trapped air. Verify that edges, overlaps, corners, and transitions are completely sealed.
