(Boorloo, the Noongar name for Perth. ) This artwork brings together some of Western Australia's most recognisable native birds and wildflowers, set against the familiar silhouette of Perth city. From the iconic black swan and other well recognisable Western Australian flora and fauna to the city skyline beyond, the painting is a colourful celebration of some of the things that make Perth feel like home to me. Painted originally in gouache, the work is a colourful, whimsical portrait of a city where nature is never far away.
