A vintage Albert chain made of sterling silver, featuring an elegant Figaro link with alternating short and long links. The Albert chain became popular after being favored by Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria in 19th-century Britain. Traditionally, it is worn by passing the T-bar through a waistcoat buttonhole and attaching a pocket watch. The lively rhythm of three small round links followed by one elongated link is complemented by a substantial yet comfortable weight of 34 g and a total length of 50 cm. The T-bar and dog clip clasp are stamped “925” and “STG-925” to indicate sterling silver. Fine abrasions and small scratches from age are present, adding to its understated, vintage silver patina. Alongside a favorite pocket watch, it would also make a lovely addition to a modern outfit as a necklace or a double-wrap bracelet, thanks to its length.
