Abel Betram 1905-1939, France, Original Signed Oil Painting
A rare opportunity to purchase this well-listed artist's work. Framed and signed and in excellent condition Image size: 53. 65 cm Frame : 67 x 75 Bertram was known in particular for his unusual use of colour. Nudes, flowers, and landscapes dominated his catalogue, especially his French-themed works. His use of colour in these paintings set his work aside from others, creating a look that was very realistic and intimate. In order to create these colours, Bertram would mix his paint himself from bold, saturated pigments. From 1905-1939 he would exhibit at the Salone des Indépendants. Bertram was a very prolific painter, with a fairly recognisable style all his own, and despite not being a household name, his work is still highly sought after by collectors today.
