Imperial Topaz, Blue Sapphire and Opal Sterling Silver Teardrop Earrings

Sometimes the most beautiful combinations are the ones you don’t expect. These long sterling silver teardrops were each shaped and textured entirely by hand, giving the silver an organic, softly imperfect surface that catches the light beautifully. No molds, no perfectly repeated patterns—just the marks left behind from making them one at a time. I paired them with a collection of stones that, on paper, probably shouldn’t work together quite as beautifully as they do: warm Imperial Topaz, deep Blue Sapphires, and luminous Ethiopian Welo Opals. The Imperial Topaz brings these gorgeous honeyed, golden tones, while the sapphires add a rich little contrast of deep blue. And then there are the Welo Opals—tiny flashes of shifting color that seem to change every time they catch the light. Against the textured sterling silver, all three stones get to be completely themselves. I love the balance of these earrings. They’re long and elegant, but they don’t take themselves too seriously. There’s movement, texture, color, and just enough sparkle to make them feel special. A little unexpected. A little playful. And completely one of a kind. Every element was thoughtfully chosen, shaped, textured, assembled, and finished by hand in my studio.
