Continental - GP5000 FLD

Continental GP5000 700c Road Tyre The GP5000 is Continental’s go-to performance road tyre — designed to give you a great balance of speed, grip, comfort, and puncture protection. Think of it as the natural upgrade from the long-popular GP4000, but with refinements that make it faster rolling, longer lasting, and a bit more forgiving on rougher roads. A few things that stand out: Rolling and grip: The BlackChili rubber compound strikes a really nice balance — fast on the straights but with dependable grip in the corners. It’s one of the reasons this tyre consistently comes up in rider and magazine tests. Comfort: Continental have built in a layer to take the sting out of road buzz. It won’t replace a wider tyre or lower pressure, but it does make long rides smoother. Cornering feel: The tread has a textured shoulder, which helps give you that confident, connected feeling when leaning into turns. Puncture protection: There’s a light but strong Vectran layer under the tread. It’s there to fend off cuts and sharp debris without slowing the tyre down or making it feel wooden. What this means for you: If you’re after a high-performance tyre that works well for everything from fast bunch rides and racing through to all-day endurance miles, the GP5000 is a solid choice. It’s available in a range of sizes, works with standard road clincher setups, and the tubeless version is also available if you prefer that system.
