1957 design Eero Saarinen 47" Tulip table, Arabesco marble & aluminum, Knoll
Designed by Eero Saarinen in 1957, the Tulip Table is one of the defining forms of mid-century modern design. Saarinen eliminated the conventional four-legged table in favor of a single sculptural pedestal, creating a remarkably clean and fluid silhouette. This later anniversary edition by Knoll features a 47 1/4-inch round Arabescato marble top with dramatic gray veining and a white cast-aluminum pedestal base. The marble has been subsequently honed to a matte finish, giving the stone a softer, more natural appearance that beautifully complements Saarinen's original design. Produced by Knoll USA East Greenville, PA using Italian marble.
