Soalheiro Reserva Alvarinho

Soalheiro Reserva is proof that Alvarinho can go toe-to-toe with barrel-aged whites from anywhere in the world. This wine got its start as an experiment back in 1995, when Soalheiro became one of the first producers to marry Alvarinho with French oak — and after years of refinement, they landed on the style that still defines Reserva today. Grapes come from valley vineyards trained to maximize sun exposure, giving the fruit less aromatic intensity but more tannin and structure — exactly the profile needed for barrel fermentation. Aged in French oak with medium toast, the result is a deep, intense yellow-gold wine with elegant, persistent aromas and a full-bodied, complex palate where the oak adds structure without ever masking Alvarinho's essential character.
