Bali Batik Sanur Tunic

Artisans in Indonesia have practiced batik dyeing for generations, and for many rural families it’s also an important source of income. Hot wax is applied to fabric before dyeing, and where the wax resists the dye, a pattern emerges. Here, drapey woven rayon is a canvas for tropical blue and green hues. The tunic has a subtle high-low hem, pieced and finished with decorative coconut button detailing at the left. Because it’s handcrafted, every tunic is unique.
