We affectionately title her style as nostalgic realism. Infusing elements of Debbie’s background in typography and graphic design, her work makes a bold statement with strong colors and interesting photographer-esq compositions that focus on nuanced details. All of her works tells tales of forgotten spaces and impactful visual memories. She began painting neon signs, often unlit, for their eye-catching design and shadow and quickly realized the powerful memories people carried for these disappearing places. That sense of nostalgia runs through all of her work, whether it's a roadside diner or a classic toy – but all being distinctly reflecting on New England’s cultural markers. Debbie lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts, spending time outdoors and walking endlessly when working at the easel.
