Colombia Felix Alberto - experimental natural SL28
Coffee notes: blueberry, strawberry, chocolate Process type: experimental natural Country: Colombia Region: Santander Altitude: 1900m Botanical variety: SL28 Recommended preparation: filter Net weight: 200g I randomly came across this coffee while scrolling through Algrano, and it turned out to be a pretty good find. It comes from Café de la Torre, run by Félix Torres in Colombia. Félix comes from a coffee-producing family in Santander, where his father owns the 10-hectare Finca Hoyo Frío, and today Café de la Torre works with coffees from producers across Colombia. This one is an SL28 processed as an experimental natural with yeast fermentation — so yeah, it’s a pretty intense coffee. It’s super funky and packed with fruit. Ripe, almost over-the-top fruitiness, lots of sweetness and a long chocolate finish. If clean and delicate is what you’re looking for, this probably isn’t it. If you want something loud, fruity and a little weird, here you go.
