Hurricane Season

The subject of this piece is a section of Bernini's sculpture "The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa". As a Floridian my entire life, I know what it is to deal with hurricanes. Most Floridians do. There is this feeling of dread that you get when one is coming towards you or for that matter anywhere near you. Even then, there is an abundance of uncertainty as to what is actually going to transpire. All the while you are very aware that there is absolutely nothing you can do to control the situation. Hurricanes seem to change direction on a whim. Somehow I thought that the expression of Teresa captured that feeling that we as Floridian's experience when a hurricane watch becomes a warning.
