West Indian Manatees are migratory mammals found in warm, slow-moving waters in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. The average adult is about 10 feet long and weighs 800-1200 pounds, with a lifespan of about 60 years. They are graceful swimmers that spend their lives underwater, resurfacing for air every 3-5 minutes.
