Occhipinti - "SP68" Sicily Frappato and Nero 2022 (1.5L)

This wine is a blend of 70% Frappato and 30% Nero d'Avola, both indigenous to Sicily. Grown on red sand soils above limestone rock, the vines, with an average age of 15 years, span across four different sites. These vines are organically cultivated and harvested by hand. The majority of the fruit is destemmed (including 4% stem inclusion for the forthcoming 2017 vintage) and undergoes co-fermentation with natural yeasts in concrete tanks, along with a two-week skin maceration. The wine matures in a concrete tank for 8 months and is then bottled without filtration. Named "SP68," the wine pays homage to the road near Arianna's home vineyard in Vittoria.
