2nd Fill Bourbon cask 191/2005 Tasted: Jul 2026 A lovely nose of mature apple, subtle well aged tropical, warm vanilla, nougat and autumnal baked fruit. There is a lovely vibrant green citrus note which reminds me of their early releases. Quite mineral with lime, white fruit and a little wood spice. Layered and elegant. The palate opens with the sawdusty mature American oak and subtle mature tropical fruit. Nutty and lightly oxidised with a nippy/ mineral green fruit note adding a freshening element. Soft tannins and wood spice come through on the middle. Long, slightly masked, rose pot Pourri finish with a little edgy spice. Water emphasises the oak and brings out dusty barley and more of the green apple and lime. On the palate it emphasises the autumnal fruit. Soft and delicate but showing a good weight and intensity. Finishes the same as neat.
