๐Ÿชฉ Diskotek Design that delights; spec that delivers One of our bugbears at PC36 is a computer that looks highly attractive, but doesn't have the spec to back it up. That's why we made Diskotek - Upon booting the system you're greeted with RGB styling and dual-glass panelling, but underneath lies a solid gaming spec worthy of the aesthetic. With a 16GB graphics card, 32GB of system RAM, and a platform that will let you slot in any Ryzen AM5 CPU in future - this is the one where you can have your cake and eat it too. This PC is already built and ready to ship. The catch? Just one in stock, and it will not be restocked. Our already-built PCs take advantage of supplier deals, which we pass onto you, but aren't repeatable ad infinitum ๐Ÿงฌ Built to last, designed to evolve This system is built on AMD's latest AM5 platform, which offers one of the best upgrade paths available today. That means you can start with a great processor now and still have room to move up the stack later, while keeping the same motherboard, case, power supply and most of your core components. On this build that upgrade path is unusually wide open: the board's fourteen phase power design and the 280mm liquid cooler will both hold anything AMD currently sell on AM5, including the Ryzen 9 parts, and the power supply has been sized to take a considerably faster graphics card without a rebuild. Two memory slots and two M.2 slots are free as well. Very little about this machine is a dead end. ๐Ÿ“ƒ Specifications ๐Ÿง  CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X Click or tap for deeper spec info 6 cores, 12 threads of Zen 5, 3.9GHz base and 5.4GHz boost, with 32MB of L3 cache. 65W TDP, though boost behaviour normally takes it past that and it will pull around 88W with every core loaded Well matched to the graphics card in front of it. At 1440p this machine is limited by the card rather than the processor in essentially every game, which is exactly where you want the balance to sit at this price. Spending more on the processor here would not have bought frames Zen 5 single-thread performance is strong, which is what competitive shooters at high refresh actually depend on Around 88W flat out, running under a 280mm liquid cooler. That is a deliberate mismatch. It means the processor never gets close to a thermal limit, the fans barely have to work, and the cooler is sized for whatever goes in the socket next rather than for what is in it now. It also gives PBO the thermal room to push power and clocks higher still, without throttling Integrated Radeon graphics are on board, which sounds irrelevant until the day a graphics card needs sending away and you would rather still have a working PC โ„๏ธ CPU cooler: Fractal Celsius+ Prisma 280mm AIO liquid cooler, black with ARGB Click or tap for deeper spec info A 280mm radiator carrying two 140mm Prisma PWM ARGB fans, running 500 to 1700rpm, mounted in the top of the case Considerably more cooler than this processor asks for, on purpose. Even boosting past its 65W rating to around 88W with every core loaded, the radiator is barely being asked for anything, and running well inside its capability is what makes it quiet: the fans sit at the bottom of their range in normal use instead of ramping to hold a temperature. It is also why a Ryzen 9 later is a straight swap rather than a cooler purchase as well Both the fans and the pump cap are lit, with the pump face tinted so the logo glows rather than glares. The radiator carries its own combined ARGB and PWM hub, so lighting and fan control run down a single cable instead of a loom of splitters The pump runs under PWM control and is set by hand before dispatch rather than left on a default curve Five year warranty from Fractal on the cooler itself, alongside our own three years on the machine ๐Ÿ”ฒ Motherboard: ASUS Prime B850-Plus CSM Click or tap for deeper spec info AMD B850 on a full ATX board, socket AM5, with an 8-phase heatsinked VRM - more than enough for any Ryzen 7 CPU including the X3D variants Four DDR5 slots 3 M.2 SSD slots, 2 left free for you to expand into 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet PC36 only uses motherboards chosen for stability and longevity. See our Trusted brands page ๐Ÿ“ Memory / RAM: 32GB (2ร—16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Lexar Thor RGB Click or tap for deeper spec info A matched pair at DDR5-6000 CL36-40-40-96, EXPO enabled, lit across the top edge DDR5-6000 on AM5 is the setting, not a compromise. It is the speed at which the memory controller runs in step with the memory rather than at half its rate, and it is where the platform is fastest. Faster kits with bigger numbers on the box often measure slower in games for exactly that reason 32GB rather than 16GB is the quiet headline of this build. Machines at this price almost always ship with 16GB. Thirty-two is what stops you thinking about it again: a game, a browser with too many tabs, Discord and a capture running together, and still room for creative work Two of the four slots are free, so 64GB later is an addition rather than a replacement On-die ECC and an integrated power management chip, both standard on DDR5 and both part of why it is more stable at speed than DDR4 ever was ๐Ÿ’พ Storage: 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD (QLC), Orico O7000 Click or tap for deeper spec info Up to 7,000MB/s sequential read and 6,500MB/s write on a Maxio MAP1602 controller Not one of our usual brands, and covered by our warranty just the same. It is here because the deal on it was good enough to put the saving into the graphics card and the memory instead, which we think is the right way round at this price Two further M.2 slots are free, both full PCIe 4.0 x4, so adding a second drive later costs nothing you have already bought ๐ŸŽฎ Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB, PowerColor Reaper Click or tap for deeper spec info RDNA 4 with 32 compute units and 16GB of GDDR6 on a 128-bit bus, backed by 32MB of Infinity Cache. 160W board power, factory overclocked above AMD's reference clocks The memory is the headline here. 16GB at this price is unusual, and it is what stops the card running out of room in texture-heavy games at 1440p while cards with 8GB start stuttering. Video memory is also the specification that ages worst, because you cannot add to it later. Buying a card with enough of it is the single most effective thing you can do for how long a machine stays comfortable Comfortable 1440p at high settings in modern titles, and very high frame rates in competitive games at 1080p or 1440p. 4K is reachable in a good many games with FSR 4 doing some of the work, though we would call this a 1440p machine and mean it Supports FSR 4, AMD's machine-learning upscaler, which is a real step up from FSR 3 and is limited to RDNA 4 cards like this one. It is the reason a card at this price still has life in it in two years AV1 encoding for streaming and recording at a much better quality-to-bitrate ratio than older codecs Being straight about ray tracing: Radeon cards are still behind NVIDIA here, and this one is no exception. Ray traced games are playable at 1440p with upscaling on, but if heavy ray tracing is your priority rather than raw frame rate, say so on live chat and we will point you at an NVIDIA build instead A compact dual-fan, dual-slot card drawing power from a single 8-pin connector, in a case that takes cards up to 430mm. There is a great deal of room around it ๐Ÿงฐ Case: Montech TG3 Black Click or tap for deeper spec info The front and side glass panels meet at the corner with no pillar between them, so the build is viewed as one open space rather than through a window. This is the reason the machine was built in this case and it is what the photographs are for 465 ร— 239 ร— 523mm, a full ATX mid tower Graphics cards up to 430mm and CPU coolers up to 180mm, with radiator support of 120 to 360mm in the top, up to 240mm on the side and 120mm at the rear. The 280mm cooler in this build is mounted in the top Supports back-connect motherboards, so if you ever rebuild in this chassis with a hidden-connector board, the option is there Front I/O is two USB 3.0 Type-A, a USB Type-C, a combined audio jack and a dedicated lighting button. Dust filters top and bottom One 3.5 inch and two 2.5 inch drive mounts, and room for up to nine fans in total if you ever wanted to fill it ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Case cooling: A 360mm ARGB intake array and a 120mm ARGB rear exhaust included with the case, plus the two 140mm radiator fans Click or tap for deeper spec info The side intake is a single unibody frame holding three 120mm reverse-blade ARGB fans, which is a much better piece of engineering than three separate fans in a row: one frame, one cable, no gaps between the fans for air to escape through, and reverse blades so the lit side faces you rather than the mesh One 120mm ARGB fan exhausts at the rear, and the 280mm radiator sits in the top with its own two 140mm fans. Six fans in total, all PWM, all on hand-set curves The airflow path is deliberate. Cool air enters at the side directly onto the graphics card and leaves through the top and the rear. The card is not asked to breathe its own exhaust An ARGB strip runs along the shroud as well, and all of it synchronises to the motherboard so the machine lights as one piece rather than as several parts that happen to be lit Being straight about expectations: a 160W graphics card and a 65W processor in a full ATX case with six fans is a genuinely easy cooling job. This machine is quiet in normal use and stays composed under load, and that is a function of the heat being modest rather than of the fans being loud โšก Power supply: DeepCool PL750D 750W, 80 PLUS Bronze Click or tap for deeper spec info 750W, 80 PLUS Bronze, with a 120mm hydro-bearing fan and a five year warranty 750W behind a 160W card is not an accident. This machine draws nothing like that. The unit was picked so that a considerably faster card later is a straight swap: a 300W-class card of the kind sold as a 70-series is comfortably within it alongside this processor, and the manufacturers of those cards recommend exactly this figure for systems with much hungrier processors than a 65W Ryzen 5 It carries a native 12V-2x6 connector, which is the modern high-power graphics connector, so a future card that wants one does not need an adapter Fixed cable, with the spare length folded and secured under the case's power supply shroud where the glass does not reach and nothing blocks airflow ๐Ÿ”Œ Cabling: Black cabling, routed and tied Click or tap for deeper spec info Black cables throughout, matched to the black interior. Routed behind the motherboard tray and tied down, with the unused cables of a non-modular supply folded and secured under the shroud where the glass does not reach This is the part of a non-modular build that takes the time, and it is the difference between a case with a wraparound glass corner looking right and looking untidy. That time is included in the price Nothing crosses the side intake path or the graphics card's own fans Braided cable extensions in a colour of your choice are available. See the upgrade options below ๐Ÿ“ถ WiFi / Bluetooth / Ethernet: PCIe add in card with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 (Intel AX210 chipset) Click or tap for deeper spec info Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are built into the MSI PRO B650-A WIFI. No separate adapter needed, and the aerial is supplied in the box Wi-Fi 6E adds the 6GHz band, which is usually far less congested than 2.4 and 5GHz if your router supports it 2.5 Gigabit wired Ethernet, which we would still recommend over wireless for competitive play. To be plain about what that buys you: the extra bandwidth will not make a game feel different, because wired is about latency and consistency rather than speed. Where it earns its place is moving large files to a NAS or another machine on your network ๐ŸชŸ Operating system: As chosen by you from the listing options below. Windows 11 Home (OEM) is recommended. ๐Ÿงน Setup and optimisation: PC36 High-Class Standard. Full stress test with certificate, bloat-free installation, and BIOS set up properly Click or tap for deeper spec info PC36 High-Class Standard, included free with every build Ready the moment you open the box. Your PC boots straight into Windows with a local account already set up. No account sign-in wall, no first-run questionnaire, no half-hour of setup before you can use the machine you just bought BIOS updated and configured properly: manual fan curves, PBO enabled, EXPO enabled, Secure Boot enabled Vanilla Windows 11 installation if you choose Windows, with no bloatware added by us, and all drivers loaded and ready to go Full stress test with certificate. Every system is torture tested on CPU, RAM and GPU before dispatch, and ships with the certificate to prove it PC36 Premier Optimisation, available in the listing options CPU tuning to bring thermals and noise down with minimal performance loss, a deeper strip and debloat of Windows, and the case fans tuned by hand for the quietest operation the machine will hold On this machine the value is mostly in the fan profile and the Windows work rather than the processor tune, because a 65W chip under a 280mm cooler is already running cool. With six fans in the case there is a lot to gain from tuning them properly PC36 Ultimate Performance Tune, available in the listing options Advanced overclocking: memory tune, CPU tune and GPU overclock on top of everything in Premier Honest answer on this build: the graphics card sets the frame rate at 1440p, so a processor tune will not change it much. The GPU overclock and the memory tune are where the gains are, and they are real but modest. Premier is the better value of the two on this machine ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Warranty: 3 years parts & labour (return to base) Click or tap for deeper spec info Standard 3-year coverage included, parts and labour both Optional extended warranties in the listing options below ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Transparency notes Because this one is already built, the specification is fixed (click or tap to read more) Most of what we sell is built to order from a series we can repeat. This is not that, which means the specification here is the specification: unlike our built-to-order machines we cannot swap the case or the board for you, because this one is already assembled and tested. Anything you would like changed is worth asking about on live chat before you order rather than after. This is a machine with a lot of light in it, and it can all be turned down (click or tap to read more) Six ARGB fans, a lit pump cap, lit memory and a strip along the shroud. That is the point of the build. It is also more light than some people want in a bedroom at night, so it is worth knowing that all of it is under motherboard control, every part of it can be dimmed, set to a single colour or switched off entirely, and none of it affects how the machine performs. Tell us what you would prefer and we will set it that way before it ships. The product images shown are real photographs of this exact PC. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Popular upgrade options This machine is already built, which changes what is possible. The options in the listing below are the ones we can do without a rebuild: your choice of operating system, a larger SSD, more memory, the optimisation tiers, and an extended warranty. Anything else is a live chat conversation, and worth having before you order rather than after. Storage upgrade: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth it if you keep more than a handful of large games installed at once, since modern installs regularly run past 100GB each. You can also defer it entirely, because both remaining M.2 slots are free and run at full PCIe 4.0 speed, so a second drive later costs you nothing you have already bought. Memory upgrade to 64GB: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth it only if you do heavy creative work, run virtual machines, or keep very large projects open alongside a game. For gaming at any resolution, 32GB is already past the point where more helps. Two slots are free, so this is an addition rather than a replacement, though a four-stick configuration usually runs a little slower than two sticks do. Operating system: choose from the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Windows 11 Home is what we recommend for a gaming machine and what almost everyone takes. Pro is worth it only if you need BitLocker, Remote Desktop or domain access. If you would rather install your own, choose the no-OS option and the machine still arrives with the BIOS configured and tested. PC36 Premier Optimisation: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info The tier we would take on this machine, and the better value of the two. With six fans in the case, a hand-built fan profile is where the quiet comes from, and the deeper Windows strip is included. Braided cable extensions: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth considering on this build specifically, because the glass wraps around the corner and the visible cable run is part of what you are looking at. On a solid-panel case we would tell you to save your money. Extended warranty: available in the listing options below. Anything else: speak with us via live chat before you order.
