Made from mild steel, each finial sweeps around into the distinctive curved shape of a shepherd’s crook. These are ex-display pieces, so they may show light signs of handling or storage. However, they remain fully usable and offer a lovely way to finish a traditional curtain pole. The Beeswax finish gives the steel a soft, natural appearance. Subtle blue and deep red ochre tones develop in the metal during forging. As a result, each piece has its own individual character. After forging, the makers dip the steel in hot beeswax. This helps preserve the natural tones of the metal and creates a rich, soft matt finish. The understated design works particularly well in period homes, country cottages and traditional interiors.
