Salt and Pepper Shakers, Fenton Milk Glass Hobnail Pattern with Metal Lids, Vintage, Pre 1958
Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers, Hobnail Pattern with Metal Lids, Milk Glass from Fenton, Tableware, Blown Glass, Condiment Serveware, (Discontinued) Brand: Fenton Art Glass Co. Made in West Virginia, USA Vintage: 1950 - 1958 Details: These are the older version of Fenton's Hobnail salt and pepper shakers. Hobnail was introduced by Fenton Art Glass Company in 1939, and the milk glass color was introduced in 1950, however, it wasn't as opaque and 'bright white' as the post 1958 pieces we are more familiar with. These have a slightly translucent quality to the glass and show a very pronounced "ring of fire", very sharp points and no chrome on the lids, very different from the shiny silver looking lids of later pieces. These are not marked, (the Fenton logo mark was not added to hobnail glass pieces until 1972-1973), they have a pontil mark because they are blown glass, but we know they are genuine Fenton. Perfect for your favorite collector, or as kitchen decor. Materials: Milk Glass, Metal Dimensions: Each is approx 3.0 inches Tall and 1.5 inches in Diameter. Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Vintage Condition. We found 3 chipped points on the hobnails, not very noticeable, we only found them by running our hands over each one. The silver metal lids are no longer shiny, and there is visible wear and slight corrosion on one, most likely from the salt. If you love the patina and authenticity of older items, you will enjoy these. Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns. Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
