Using a syringe-style applicator, it injects rapidly expanding sponge pouches that absorb blood and expand up to 10× their size, applying internal pressure without manual compression. The XSTAT P15 applies the newest XSTAT minisponge pouch technology in a smaller, reduced-diameter applicator optimized for the narrow-wound tracts suited to the prior-generation XSTAT 12 device. As a modification of the field-proven XSTAT P30, the P15 uses the same enclosed sponge pouch and sponge count per pouch.
