Roaster’s Note Hero’s is bold, comforting, and quietly layered. Created as a coffee rooted in care, it was crafted to honor service, sacrifice, and the people who carry its weight every day. Roasted to a medium-dark profile to bring warmth, body, and sweetness to the cup, it offers notes of white chocolate, raisin, and maple syrup, with a smooth richness that makes it just as enjoyable black as it is with cream and sugar. Crafted as a blend of washed and anaerobic coffees, this year’s Hero’s carries more nuance than a traditional darker roast, balancing familiarity with delicate complexity. The washed coffee brings structure and clarity, while the experimental anaerobic adds subtle layered sweetness, creating a cup that feels grounded, approachable, and quietly memorable. We loved the idea that the blend itself could reflect something deeper, strength and tenderness, steadiness and uncertainty, brought together in balance. We especially love brewing Hero’s in a French press, where its richness and texture fully unfold, though it also shines as a classic drip coffee meant to be shared slowly. Hero’s Roast is also our way of showing up for veterans, military families, and the community that supports them. Our co-founder, Al Lopez, a fourth-generation coffee farmer and U.S. Army veteran, has long shaped the way we think about responsibility and care. This roast has been led since its debut by General Manager, Max Folger, a Marine veteran, who helped bring the blend to life with deep thought and purpose. From the roast profile to the nonprofit partnership, the intention has stayed the same: create something beautiful that gives back. Whether you are brewing a quiet cup at sunrise or sharing a pot around the table, we hope this coffee offers a moment of comfort, reflection, and care.
