Ethiopia Yirgacheffe
From the high-elevation hills of Worka Sakaro in Ethiopia’s famed Yirgacheffe region, Hirbe Gasha’s coffee captures the vibrant character that makes coffees from Gedeb so beloved. Grown on his family farm and naturally processed with meticulous care, this lot offers a lively cup bursting with berry tart sweetness, rich plum jam notes, and a smooth finish. Coffee has been part of Hirbe’s family for generations, and today he oversees every step of production - from cultivating and harvesting the cherries to exporting the coffee himself, a rare achievement for an independent Ethiopian producer. Careful hand-sorting, slow drying on raised beds, and attentive processing help preserve the coffee’s expressive fruit character, resulting in a complex and memorable cup.
