This unique Forever Joy artichoke sculpture features a smaller central dried artichoke bloom — naturally sculptural in form, yet no less commanding in presence. Deep charcoal-black tones give the flower a dramatic elegance, drawing the eye to every layered petal and intricate detail. The bloom rises from a natural wooden base, still carrying its original bark and traces of lichen — a reminder of its organic beginnings. Finished imperfectly by hand with Annie Sloan black wax, the timber appears almost fire-scorched, allowing the dark flower to seem as though it has emerged directly from the ashes itself. Nestled within a solid copper fitting, a subtle copper “pool” surrounds the stem, suggesting molten metal that has melted gently into the wood. The warmth of the copper contrasts beautifully with the darkened bloom and base, creating a piece that feels both grounded and powerful. “Phoenix Bloom” speaks quietly of endurance — of remaining beautiful, strong and deeply rooted, even after life’s fiercest fires.
