Calacatta Monet is quarried in the Apuan Alps of Tuscany — the same mountain range that supplied marble to Michelangelo. Its defining characteristic is its colouring: a white ground threaded with veining in brown, gold, and faint violet, no two slabs identical in their arrangement. The Otis was designed around the properties of the stone rather than despite them. The T-framed base and shark-nose edge profile — both cut from the same block — allow the full diameter of the top to read without interruption. At 100cm diameter and 30cm high, the proportions place the surface exactly where it belongs: present without imposing. Each piece is made for one residence. The stone is selected before production begins.
